As founder of MakerLinks, Ariel shares his vision of utilizing 3d printing and digital design technologies to nurture children’s creativity and creating global networks of young innovators who share knowledge and help each other.
Ariel believes creative endeavors are incredibly rewarding. Children involved in creative activities gain self-confidence and experience the feeling of happiness and fulfillment that comes from expressing themselves
After graduating from Harvard University – Graduate School of Design - with a Master’s Degree in Design Technology (2003) and a Master in Architecture from Buenos Aires University (1999), Ariel worked for more than 18 years for leading architectural firms in New York City including Rafael Vinoly Architects, Frank Gehry Technologies, TEN Architects and Martha Schwartz Inc. as well as an independent architectural designer and design technology consultant.
HGR is an applied mathematician, mathematical biologist and computational neuroscientist. He received his PhD from the TECHNION (Israel Institute of Technology). His research interests lie in the interface between mathematics and biology, particularly neuroscience. His research focuses on building and analyzing mathematical models to understand oscillatory networks (e.g., neuronal, biochemical, genetic) and how these networks process information and perform computations. As a STEM educator, advisor and mentor, he views teaching as helping learners in the process of discovering knowledge and developing analytical, problem-solving and independent thinking skills. He believes a significant amount of knowledge can be constructed from the subject's own experience. This requires the creation of appropriate environments and tools. It also requires a redefinition of the roles of "teachers" and "students" that is both democratic and effective for the production of knowledge.
